Featuring Roundtable board member Luis Restrepo's stunning one-man-show, The Magical Journey of Abraham and the Moon, our fundraising fiesta Welcome Home ran the gamut of theatrical expression on September 15th, 2014. The evening began with a Meet & Mingle Hour sponsored by Rosa Mexicana, who donated delicious guacemola and tortilla chips for our guests. Following the fiest, Actor Ziv Gidron shared an original poem about the trauma of leaving one's motherland, singer Jillian Ferry and dancer Elizabeth Lanier collaborated on a powerful movement piece, and Luis Restrepo presented a moving and enlightening workshop production of his acclaimed one-man-show, which follows a young boy from his home in Guatamala through the trecherous Mexican railways as he searches for his estranged mother. Finally, the event concluded with an illuminating talk-back with playwright Restrepo.
Proceeds from Welcome Home were donated to the charity organization, Kids in Need of Defense. KIND was established by actress and activist Angelina Jolie in collaboration with Microsoft and provides pro bono lawyers for migrant children who have come to the United States without guardianship or legal protection in search of a better life. Thanks to our compassionate and generous audiences, we were able to make a sizable donation to help these children in need. For more information on KIND, visit SupportKIND.org

Roundtable Theatre Lab Presents...
ACTING OUT
One night only!
December 1st, 7pm
The Secret Theatre
4402 23rd St,
Long Island City, NY 11101

We had a kickass night playing full-throttle performance-based games for a raucous crowd at Acting Out! Each team represented an important charity organization as we went head-to-head in Ultimate Charades and Death By Pictionary all while being heckled (loudly and hilariously) by our high-energy audience. Kathryn Francisco and John Conver kept us entertained with a fabulous halftime show while audience-members purchased raffle tickets to win some amazing prizes like a personal workout designed by a professional fitness trainer, private stage combat workshops, and more free beer than any person could drink. The best part was donation that we were able to make to ArtStart on behalf of the winning team!
